With the late ice out this year it was a real challenge to open up camps. I have been able to get out to the camps over June and July to do a lot of the regular upkeep and maintenance required with the outposts . The elements are harsh on the lake outposts and there is always work to be done. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to make the time to go fishing with all the $h!t we have had to get through (pun intended).

Digging outhouse at outpost

The weather has been hot with fishing reports coming back positive. Thicketwood has so far been the most consistent with big walleyes with nearly every group catching numerous walleyes above 22 inches. The biggest catch of the week on Thicketwood lake outpost has been in the 28 inch range with the biggest so far this year coming in at 29.5 inches!
